The Nerdist podcast hosted by Chris Hardwick, Jonah Ray, and Matt Mira has given me an abundant amount of entertainment. Their podcast is something that I always listen to while designing and illustrating. I had originally wanted to enter this artwork into their ongoing Nerdist Art Project for their Hostful podcasts, and one thing that I did not take into account were the dimensions that are required for there website. This was a mistake that I usually do not overlook when I am creating artwork.
I had finished the work and was completely satisfied with the results with the color, atheistic and creativity. When I began to format the image to fit the dimensions for their website I had realized that I had made a monumental mistake. These dimensions were so drastically different then the area that I had made the illustration in that only about half of the actual image could be seen and then I thought “shit”.
I still entered the image as horribly cropped as it was to the Nerdist Art Project and then tweeted a smaller version of the finished work to Chris Hardwick, Jonah Ray, and Matt Mira and I think that they really like it! Chris responded that he “loves that in so many filthy ways”.
I would love an opportunity to create more Nerdist art and I really hope that the cards fall in my favor. Only time will tell.
